How You Can Help

UCAN relies on volunteers to complete its mission.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Urbandale Community Action Network (UCAN), please fill out an online volunteer application (linked below) or reach out to us by phone (515.334.2632) or email (info@urbandalenetwork.org).

Volunteer Applications:

  • Provide transportation for Seniors

    • The Urbandale Community Action Network has always focused on providing rides to citizens who can no longer drive or do not have transportation. In the upcoming months, we will be updating our transportation program to allow more volunteers to become involved in this important community service.

  • Fall Yardwork for Seniors

    • Volunteers are needed to rake leaves and other small yard projects for Urbandale seniors. So, grab your rake, gloves, and friends, family, or colleagues for a great workout while making a difference in the community.

  • Donate New Winter Boots, Coats, and Snow Pants for Children

    • Even though it has been an unseasonably warm autumn, winter is just around the corner. In order to let Urbandale elementary students play in the snow at recess, please donate snow boots and snow pants in various sizes to the UCAN office.

  • Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays

    • Last year, UCAN volunteers adopted over 50 families! In order to make sure every individual receives a gift this year, please sign up to adopt a family in need. Thank you!

  • Donate Back-to-School Supplies

    • UCAN partners with private donors to purchase school supplies and backpacks for children in need.
